One Day Left for .africa Sunrise Phase Registrations.

Rights holders have one day left to apply for a .africa domain name during the Sunrise Phase of the .africa top-level domain (TLD) launch. The Sunrise Phase, which is is set to expire on the 2nd of June 2017, is a special period specifically allocated for rights holders, giving them a head start in securing their trade marks ,trade names or product names before the TLD is open to the general public.
In order to obtain a .africa registration during the Sunrise Phase, trademarks or other relevant rights will need to be validated using the trade mark validation system or trade mark clearing house. Validation is only applicable to the Sunrise Phase.
At the end of the Sunrise Phase applications for the .africa domain names are then ranked in priority by the ZA Central Registry and the trade mark with the highest priority will be given the domain name. The domain names that are not taken up at the Sunrise Phase can be applied for by interested parties at the Landrush Phase. The Landrush Phase is also the only time that rights holders with rights in Generic names can apply to register their generic name as a domain name.
The Landrush Phase is open to any interested person or entity and works by requesting the domain name that you want and paying the application fees. If more than one entity wants the same domain name, the domain name is then auctioned off to the highest bidder.
